Information we collect
We collect only what we need to respond to you and run our business:
- Information you give us - name, email address, phone number, company name, budget range and project details submitted through our contact forms or by email.
- Information collected automatically - IP address, browser and device type, referring URL, pages viewed and time on page, gathered through analytics cookies where you have consented.
- Information from clients - during an engagement we may process data you provide for the purpose of delivering the contracted work, under the terms of a separate services agreement or data processing addendum.
How we use it
- To respond to your enquiry and provide a proposal
- To deliver, support and invoice for contracted services
- To send service updates and, where you have opted in, occasional insights
- To analyse site usage so we can improve the website
- To meet legal, accounting and security obligations
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
Legal bases and consent
Where required by law, we process personal information on the basis of your consent (marketing communications and non-essential cookies), the performance of a contract (delivering services you have engaged us for), our legitimate interests (responding to business enquiries, securing our systems) or compliance with a legal obligation.
Cookies and tracking
We use strictly necessary cookies to make the site function, and analytics cookies to understand how the site is used. Analytics cookies are only set where you have consented. You can clear or block cookies through your browser settings; strictly necessary cookies cannot be disabled without affecting site functionality.
We honour Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as an opt-out of any sale or sharing of personal information under applicable US state privacy laws.
Who we share information with
We share personal information only with service providers who process it on our behalf under contract, including cloud hosting, email delivery, analytics, CRM and payment processing providers. We may also disclose information where required by law, to enforce our agreements, or in connection with a merger or acquisition.
How long we keep it
Enquiry records are retained for 24 months from last contact. Client project records are retained for seven years to meet contractual, tax and accounting obligations. Analytics data is retained for 14 months. You may request earlier deletion where no legal obligation requires us to keep it.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Know what personal information we hold about you and request a copy
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your information
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and of targeted advertising
- Withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time
- Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights
Residents of California (CCPA/CPRA), Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas and other states with comprehensive privacy laws have these rights by statute. To exercise them, email contact@orangeorbits.com. We will verify your identity and respond within the period required by your state's law (generally 45 days). You may designate an authorised agent to act for you.
Security
We apply access controls, encryption in transit, least-privilege permissions and regular patching to systems that hold personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affecting your information occurs, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
Children
Our services are directed at businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
International transfers
We are based in the United States and process information here. Where we work with clients or service providers outside the US, transfers are made under appropriate safeguards, including standard contractual clauses where required.
Changes to this policy
We will post any changes on this page and update the "last updated" date. Material changes affecting how we use your information will be notified by email where we hold a valid address for you.
